LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A local conference may help those trying to quit smoking find support and community engagement in Lexington.

The Kentucky Center for Smoke-Free Policy (KCSP) is hosting a conference to educate the public on the benefits of quitting smoking and provide resources to assist those striving to achieve independence from tobacco and nicotine addiction.

The conference, titled “Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges,” will take place on Wednesday and Thursday. The focus will be on the impacts of marketing tactics employed by tobacco companies to prey on youth and how to “build trust with authentic community engagement in Kentucky.”

In addition to community outreach, the conference will award local leaders and organizations that create positive environments for those trying to quit smoking.
