As it does every year, the Obama administration released the list of gifts the president received in 2015, including some treasures worth more than Donald Trump’s faltering poll numbers.
Among some of the most extravagant gifts received were a 36-inch sword with a mother-of-pearl and gold handle from the king of Saudi Arabia (worth $87,900), seven boxes of Cuban cigars (worth $4,158) and chocolates from Morocco ($842).
Less exciting endowments included a framed etching of Stonehenge from former British Prime Minister David Cameron, a model spinning wheel from India and a cellphone case from Kyrgyzstan.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry gave the Obamas an autographed photo of himself. Valued at $450, the picture is presumably worth more than one of his less attractive brother, Prince William.
Unfortunately, the majority of the gifts had to be turned over to the government, as employees aren’t allowed to keep presents received in an official capacity, though items worth less than $375 don’t have to be reported or transferred.
