In November, annual inflation in Lithuania stood at 4.4%

Statistics Lithuania informs that in November 2017, against October, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 0.3%. This was mainly influenced by an increase in prices for fuels and lubricants, heat energy, milk and milk products, cheese and eggs, as well as by a decrease in prices for fruit, passenger transport by air, coffee, tea and cocoa, other appliances, articles and products for personal care (see Table 3).

Over the said period, prices for consumer goods increased by 0.4%, those for consumer services –remained almost unchanged. The influence of the change in prices for consumer goods on the overall monthly price change stood at plus 0.294 percentage points, that of the change in prices for consumer services – at plus 0.002 percentage points.



 

Prices for consumer goods and services regulated by State and municipal authorities increased by 1.1%, market prices – 0.2%. The influence of the change in prices regulated by State and municipal authorities stood at plus 0.152 percentage points, the influence of the change in market prices stood at plus 0.149 percentage points.


In November 2017, against October, the largest decrease in prices among food products and non-alcoholic beverages was observed for fruit, coffee, tea and cocoa, while the largest increase was recorded for oil and fats.


In the group of goods and services related to housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, the price change (prices increased by 1.1%) was determined by an increase in prices for energy goods.




An increase in prices for transport group of goods and services (1.2%) was determined by an increase in prices for fuels.


The change in prices for health care goods and services (prices increased by 0.7%) was determined by an increase in prices for pharmaceuticals and medical services.

In November 2017, annual (November 2017, against November 2016) inflation stood at 4.4%.


Annual inflation was mainly influenced by an increase in prices for beer, milk and milk products, cheese and eggs, fuels and lubricants, services of restaurants, cafés and the like, oil and fats, spirits, as well as by a decrease in prices for electricity and pharmaceuticals (see Table 3).


Over the year, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 4 and 5.5% respectively.




In November 2017, against November 2016, prices regulated by State and municipal authorities decreased by 0.5%, while market prices increased by 5.1%.


In November 2017, average annual inflation stood at 3.5%. An increase in average annual inflation has been observed.

The overall change in consumer prices is influenced not only by the size of the price change for a certain product but also by the relative share (weight) of expenditure on that product in the total consumption expenditure.
