NEW DELHI: Not just two-wheelers, but all slow moving vehicles, including three-wheelers and the recently cleared quadricycles, won't be allowed to ply on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. The road transport and highways ministry has notified this with the justification that the 135 km expressway is primarily meant for fast moving vehicles. Though same was the norm when Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway was opened for traffic, this was hardly followed because of poor enforcement.
Secondly, in that case the existing road was widened. But EPE is a greenfield expressway where entry and exits are regulated and each vehicle's entry and exit is recorded.
