U.S. President Donald Trump's official physical exam reports show that the president is overweight despite the change in BMI from his last two terms, making him the "heaviest president in modern history."

Trump is said to be in "excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State" in the report that was issued by Walter Reed physician Capt. Sean P. Barbabella to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Trump underwent the annual physical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday.

According to the report, the president weighs 224 pounds at a height of 75 inches. This makes his BMI approximately 28, which puts him in the overweight category. However, he is not obese.

This is lower than his BMI in 2016 and later in 2019.

In 2016, the then-70-year-old weighed 236 pounds, the NPR reported, making his BMI 29.5, just a little shy of being obese.

In 2019, the BBC reported that he weighed 243 pounds, bringing his BMI up to 30.4, which made him clinically obese.

Trump's medical history shows a "lifelong abstinence from tobacco and alcohol."

The 47th U.S. president also takes two medicines to control his cholesterol, namely Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe, Aspirin for cardiac prevention, and Mometasone cream when needed for skin condition.

While Trump is the heaviest president in modern history, he ranks third on the list of presidents elected between 1789 and 2021, as per Statista.

William Howard Taft, the 27th U.S. President, was the heaviest at 332 pounds. While there is an urban legend about Taft getting stuck in a bathtub, the former president had a custom bathtub built and installed in the USS North Carolina before his trip to Panama to inspect the Panama Canal.

Taft famously went on a low-fat, low-calorie diet after being advised by doctors, maintaining a diary closely tracking his meals and weighing himself daily while exercising with a personal trainer.
