Pedestrian hit, killed crossing Interstate 435 near Worlds of Fun
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City police responded to calls of a pedestrian hit on Interstate 435 near 210 Highway early Monday morning.
The call came in around 4:10 a.m. at 435 and Parvin Road.
Upon arrival, police found a driver on the scene who had hit a pedestrian.
Preliminary investigation revealed a semi driver was traveling North on 435 from 210 Hwy when a pedestrian crossed the highway wearing dark clothing. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver is not hurt.
The investigation closed northbound lanes at I-435 near Parvin Road until 7:15 a.m.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area using 291 or I-35 as alternate routes.
