BATON ROUGE, La. - Time is running out to apply for the Louisiana GATOR Scholarship Program. The program gives parents the money to send their children to a school of their choice.

The application window closes tomorrow. So far, more than 35,000 people have applied. 

To qualify for the Louisiana GATOR Scholarship Program, your student must:

  • Be a Louisiana resident
  • Be between the ages of 5 and 21 by September 30, 2025

And meet one of the following:

  • Participated in the Louisiana Scholarship Program during the 2024–2025 school year
  • Participated in LA GATOR during the previous school year
  • Is entering kindergarten
  • Was enrolled in a public school for both Oct. 1 and Feb. 1 of the 2024–2025 school year
  • Comes from a household with income at or below 250% of the federal poverty level

  • Application status and eligibility
  • How funding prioritization works
  • What to expect next
