CHATHAM, Ill. (TNND) — Four students have been identified after a vehicle crashed through an Illinois after-school building Monday, killing them and injuring six others, according to authorities.
Illinois State Police identified 44-year-old Marianne Akers as the driver and said they do not believe it was a targeted attack.
"The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but this does not appear to be a targeted attack," police said in a Tuesday update.

Two 7-year-olds, an 8-year-old and an 18-year-old were killed Monday when a vehicle "left the road for unknown reasons," traveled through a field and crashed into an after-school camp in Chatham, Illinois State Police said. Six more children were taken to area hospitals and one remains in critical condition.
The Sangamon County Coroner said all four girls were pronounced dead at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the incident.
