SXSW Unloads Fourth Artist List

Quin NFN, Cayucas, Gabriella Cohen, and 128 more

Following three supersized artist announcements, South by Southwest now shifts to smaller weekly band lists leading up to the music conference, running March 11-17. Australian Captured Tracks signee Gabriella Cohen, ATX rap breakout Quin NFN, and California indie pop group Cayucas add to the talent pool.

This morning’s cull of 131 acts also includes L.A. darkwave unit Drab Majesty, Swedish rapper Bladee, Colombian vibe tribe Moügli, and Burger Records-approved garage-punk band Gymshorts. Also on the docket for Austin’s largest industry gathering: Southern rockers Drivin N Cryin, surfy NYC indie rockers High Waisted, pop singer-songwriter Ella Vos, Scottish rockers Paws, Friends theme music creators the Rembrandts, South Korean hip-hop crew XXX, and the highly original Pakistani beat music of Jaubi.

Louisiana-bred, Austin-based roots rocker Rod Melancon, who last week released a swaggering reimagining of Tom Waits’ “Goin’ Out West,” also stakes his claim to the complimentary SXSW artist backpack.

Additionally, Austin’s ever-vibrant musical underground adds a dozen SXSW’ showcasers: Buenos Diaz, Calliope Musicals, Country Cousins, Curse Mackey, Future Museums, Gina Chavez, Go Fever, Graham Reynolds & Golden Arm Trio, Jean Caffeine, Merry Jane & the Fondas, Ramesh, and San Saba County.
